TBR Thursday: Escort by Skye Warren

37854751I’m an escort, which means this date is nothing more than a mutually enjoyable transaction. There shouldn’t be any surprises, not for one as jaded as me, but when I walk into the penthouse suite of L’Etoile, everything changes.

1) For one thing, Bea is heartstoppingly gorgeous. Pale green eyes and endless freckles. Curves I want to spend all night exploring, as if her body was made for me.

2) Her innocence makes me want to use my entire inventory of bedroom tricks on her and then invent a few more.

3) Except that… she’s a virgin.

I can initiate her into the world of desire without letting her get attached, can’t I? A few hours of tutoring, and at the end of the night a small fortune will be deposited into my bank account.

But once I realize one night with her won’t be enough, I’m the one who’s screwed.

Book Review: Tales of the Odalisque by Josie Litton

Tales of the OdalisqueTales of the Odalisque by Josie Litton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think this is the book I’d recommend if you wanted to start reading Josie Litton’s work. Tales of the Odalisque is a sensual, sumptuous, richly thrilling novella that is perfect to read in one or two sittings. If you’re in the mood for something a little sexy, a little taboo, and a little mysterious, then I suggest you give this erotic tale a read.

Having read His Lordship’s Downfall, parts 1 and 2, I can say that this isn’t QUITE as scandalous. If you finished those works and are dying for more naughty tales, I don’t think Tales will satisfy that. All things considered, I found it tame compared to Adrian’s story of wicked debauchery. BUT. That being said, I thought it was fabulous. I loved both main characters. I want to see so much more of them, with Lucius teaching and dominating and being the sexy bad boy that he is. I could definitely read more from this universe, and I’m thrilled at that my opinion isn’t in the minority, and Ms. Litton will be expanding the universe in the future.

GIVE IT TO ME. MY BODY IS READY.

A+

Book Review: Little Dancer by Brianna Hale

Little DancerLittle Dancer by Brianna Hale

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Once again, I’m super thrilled to have found Brianna Hale. She’s been added to my must-read author list, and I’ll definitely give every book she’s got a try.

I docked one star from Little Dancer only because I didn’t find myself enjoying the DD/lg dynamic as much as I did in her other works. I found Abby to be a little too young, a little too helpless in the big bad adult world, and I just didn’t vibe with her because of it. The writing was still great, and the sex scenes were more plentiful and steamier, but Abby was just too much of a little for me. And, really, that comes down to personal preference more than anything. People who really dig the kink will likely enjoy the dynamic!

BLACK SOUL, SUFFOCATING IN SILENCE

Severus: demon, incubus, escort–leech. After centuries of scorn from his own kind in the underworld, Severus went topside and settled amongst the secret demon community in Farrow’s Hollow. Located near a hell-gate, the city allows him to exist on Earth without sacrificing much of his demon abilities, but as with all incubi, he must take the life essence of humans to maintain his strength.

Working as an escort, he has been able to keep himself satiated, juggling enough clients to ensure that he doesn’t repeat the mistakes of past incubi—the murderers, the gluttons, the true demonic leeches.

In his line of work, Severus sees much of the same every night: human women searching for surrender, for a connection, for love. He caters to them, steals from them, not realizing that he’s desperate for all the same things.

BLUE EYES, WATCHING HER WORLD FADE AWAY

Moira Aurelia: grad student, TV-marathoner, bar trivia champion—unable to look in a mirror. Not anymore. Because when she does, she no longer sees herself. The person, the creature, staring back isn’t her. It can’t be.

Hair, skin, eyes. Nothing is the same as it once was, and no one can tell her why. Despite her fears that she might be dying from the same mysterious illness that killed her mom two years ago, Moira finds herself getting stronger, too, her senses sharper. Terrified by the lack of control she has over her own body, she retreats, withdrawing from her once active university social life.

After unsuccessfully searching for answers, a frustrated Moira goes after the one thing she can control: her sex life. Twenty-three and still unable to experience a satisfying climax, she schedules a session with Russ Tanner, highly recommended male escort, and hopes for something to go right for once.

LIGHT AND DARK COLLIDE—DESPERATE TO CONNECT

But the night takes a turn from the moment they meet. Severus, expecting just another dull session with a new client, is thrown by the otherworldly creature seeking his services–this strange, beautiful woman who arouses his long dormant demon side like none other. Moira, meanwhile, finds herself face-to-face with a man who can handle her newfound strength–and wears a dark stare and sinful smile like a second skin.

Two lonely creatures grapple with the undeniable pull between them.

Moira flees. Severus pursues.

Desperate for answers, the demon seeks her out–unaware that he isn’t the only predator to have caught her scent.

PREDATOR is the first novella in THE HUNT, a paranormal romance serial. It contains coarse language, graphic sexual content, and a very mild cliffhanger. The Hunt is considered a continuous story containing one novella and three novels, and should be read in order:
PREDATOR (#1)
PREY (#2)
STALKER (#3)

TBR Thursday: Princess Brat by Brianna Hale

34297967When father’s away, with Daddy Dom she’ll play.

Throwing tantrums may be childish behavior, but it’s the only way Adrienne Westley feels she can be heard. In the middle of a tabloid scandal, her father cares more about his career than the threats to his mouthy daughter. So when bodyguard Dieter Vanderbroeck enters her home she’s shocked by his dominant presence.

Try as she might to defy him, Dieter doesn’t give in to her bratty attitude. Instead, he challenges it with a commanding voice and a firm hand. His authoritative tone calls to a part of Adrienne that she’s long kept hidden–and as Dieter begins to unravel her submissive nature, it becomes harder and harder to keep things professional.

Adrienne’s about to find out just where bratty little girls go: over Daddy’s knee. Because he no longer wants to be just her bodyguard, he wants to be her Daddy Dom.
