The Authors’ Oracle Questionnaire: The Fool

So, last week I was tagged by the fabulous Holly Evans (@ShadowChaosFox) on twitter to answer a tarot-based questionnaire, and I’m IN LOVE WITH THE IDEA. As a tarot card reader myself, of course the idea appealed to me. The original has 22 questions, one for each of the Major Arcana, and can be found here, on author Angela D’Onofrio’s blog.

Since I’m only just getting back to reading and writing with my concussed brain, it’ll be easier to answer one question at a time, but I’m eager to start! So, without further ado, we’re off to The Fool!

Price: FREE e-version, $5.98 paperback

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Rating: M for heavy erotic elements

Length: roughly 21K (novella – e-version) or 31K (paperback)

Blurb:

The glory days of Ancient Greece are long gone, and the gods of the Old World are scattered across the globe. As their popularity dwindles, as their worshipers forget, their power fades. Luckily for Aphrodite, she’s a household name. After all, how could anyone ever forget the Greek goddess of Love?

Unfortunately, no one seems to know or care about her divinity. In a world of skeptics and technology-crazed mortals, loneliness and boredom have taken hold. Her life consists of romance advice columns, martini bars, and flings with empty-headed men—until she meets Loki.

She’s intrigued: it’s been decades—centuries even—since she laid eyes on another god, particularly one outside her pantheon. In their short—albeit incredibly sexy—time together, she realizes just how much she needs the companionship of one of her own. Loki, however, seems more interested in catching a murderous maenad than swapping stories about the old days.

Can she convince Loki to stay and make her life a little less lonely, or will he persuade her to join him on his quest for more worshipers? His questionable tactics make her uneasy, but how can she turn down the opportunity to live as she once did: freely, powerfully, and lustfully as Aphrodite of Olympus.

Cover Reveal: Happy Hour

Although it’s a few weeks late thanks to a glorious concussion I received from a work injury, I’m finally launching my Erotic Short Shorts series. Based on single word prompts, I’m writing erotic short stories that span across all erotic romance sub-genres, each with the potential to turn into something longer with enough reader insistence.

The first in the series is a contemporary erotic romance titled Happy Hour. It’s a standalone, complete erotic short with more character feels than I intended to include. It goes live Sunday, February 28th, 2016 on Amazon. You’ll be able to add it to your Goodreads TBR by the end of this week.

As it will be exclusively available on Amazon, you’ll be able to snag freebie deals and such. I am always open, however, to providing review copies.

But for now, here’s the gorgeous cover I purchased from Alexis at Cover Couture.

Guest Post: Should I Self-Publish?

Today I have the very talented Samantha Ferguson with me as a guest blogger. Does the name sound familiar? It should. I ranted and raved about her superb novel, The Secret Diary of a Checkout Girl last year, which earned one of my rare 5 star reviews because it was FANTASTIC.

Don’t remember? Check out the review here!

But that’s not why Samantha’s on my blog today. Instead, she’s here to give authors considering taking the self-publishing route an insight into the process. The ups, the downs, the marketing.  A lot of what she says here I couldn’t have said better myself, so dive right on in and enjoy!

Cover Reveal: The Island by S. Usher Evans

I was very fortunate to be a (somewhat terrible) beta reader for The Island. I was also a backer on my gal pal’s awesomesauce kickstarter campaign and will be getting a gorgeous paperback soon.

As always, Usher writes sassy, real characters who tug at heartstrings and make you want more. I’m super excited to share her beautiful new cover today on my blog!
